The Home Care and Rehabilitation (HCR) 2006 trade show was held from 27 to 29 September at the Tokyo Big Sight in Japan. This was Invacare’s first event in Japan that showcased the new TDXsp, M51, Atm powerchairs the MSS Mattresses & Cushions, the bed range from EC Hong, Action2 & Action3 manual wheelchairs, and from our Australian manufacturing facilities the Decpac Ramps, and Lifters
Invacare was represented on 4 booths, with our colleagues from the Helix Group (motion concepts, Altimate) and partners/distributors Lac Healthcare, Showa Boeki, Alber Japan, and Caremedics all based in Japan.
Many sales opportunities were discovered, from customers wanting to buy the TDXsp, to distributors wanting to take on Invacare products. The Invacare stand was extremely busy for all three days, manned by Henrik Vester from EC Hong, Chris Sparks, Craig Slattery, Wendy Sparks and Reiko Hasuo from Invacare Asia, and the teams’ interpreters.
HCR is the largest international home care and rehabilitation exhibition in Japan and is designed around homecare and rehabilitation products, covering Mobility, Beds, Bed related products, Bathing, Toilet, ADL's, Communication Equipment, Home Construction, Artificial Limbs, Casualty Prevention and Elderly. 554 Japanese companies and 78 overseas companies from 15 countries exhibited more than 25,000 home care and rehabilitation equipment. Over the three days 130,627 visitors attended HCR and included care managers, home helpers, staff from social welfare institutions & organizations, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, construction/design related persons, manufacturers, distributors, governmental, end users, social welfare care related and nursing students, and the general public.
