Invacare XPO2 Portable Oxygen Concentrator approved for Air New Zealand flights.

Invacare’s XPO2 is a truly portable oxygen concentrator, ideal for active and travelling oxygen dependent patients. Now that the XPO2 can be used on Air New Zealand flights you can choose when, where and how you travel thoughout New Zealand and beyond. The XPO2 is also approved for use on a number of airlines globally, there are few places you won’t be able to visit.

XPO2 passengers need to follow the procedures outlined by Air New Zealand (click here to go directly to the relevant page).  Due to the variations of power supply on aircraft, the XPO2 cannot be plugged in or charged during the flight with Air New Zealand. Passengers using the XPO2 are reminded to bring sufficient battery packs with them to power the device for the duration of the flight, plus additional batteries equal to a conservative estimate of any unanticipated delays.  Because the Invacare XPO2’s internal and supplemental batteries are expected to last 5 hours, all domestic, trans-tasman and pacific flights will necessitate no more than 1-2 reserve battery packs. Spare batteries will be needed for longer flights. If connecting with other airlines XPO2 passengers will need to check with the airline for approval. A list of approved airlines is below, however passengers should confirm directly with the airline, their travel agent or tour organiser that the XPO2 can be used for the full duration of the journey.

The Invacare XPO2 Oxygen Concentrator has been designed to meet the full time home and mobile needs of oxygen passengers.  The XPO2 is stylish in design and features a simple user interface, with everything brought together in a compact, lightweight, yet robust package. The XPO2 eliminates the requirement of those needing long-term oxygen therapy to choose only between the constraints of liquid oxygen systems or compressed gas cylinders.  The XPO2 is the result of more than 25 years of experience and insight into the needs of individuals requiring long-term oxygen therapy.  This insight includes the understanding of the kind of robust operation and device durability required of oxygen therapy equipment.
